25 | On 7/31/24 at 9:30AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an unannounced inspection for an increase in capacity application. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Iktifa Altaie and provided purpose of visit. Fire clearance was completed on 7/23/24. Also, in the home was Husband, Karrar Twair, who helped translate in Arabic during the inspection. The one story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present in the home were 4 day care children and one of own foster child under the age of 10.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms 2-3, fenced front and back yard area. Off limits areas include bedrooms 1, 4, 5, garage, garage room, and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers and locks. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. Licensee understands that supervision is required at all times during outdoor activities.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is a body of water on the property and it is properly fenced with a self-latching gate. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 4/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee is exempt from Mandated Reporter Training as their primary language is Arabic. Children’s records were reviewed.
Provider is hereby reminded of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms; corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. All equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer. |
