Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Saraliz Velando and Adriana Macias conducted an announced case management inspection for an increase in capacity. LPA met with Licensee, Masooma Jafari. There was 1 child present today. This visit is to verify that the licensee remains in substantial compliance with the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing large family childcare homes. Licensee has all appropriate forms posted. LPA confirmed with licensee that all adults residing/working in the home have criminal record/TB clearances. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. Fire clearance was granted on 10/11/24. Licensee stated her business hours are 6am-9pm, Monday-Friday.

The one level home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire extinguisher (2A10BC), carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children, and electrical outlets were covered. There are no bodies of water and the LPAs did not observe any. Applicant states that there are no firearms or weapons in the home and LPAs did not observe any either. First Aid and CPR expire September 2025. Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires January 2026.

Applicant will be using the following rooms for childcare: Living room, Dining room, Kitchen, Bedroom 1, Bathroom 1, and Patio. The following areas are off limits: Bedroom 2, storage closets, and Garage. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities with an emergency exit that was approved by the Fire Marshall. LPA advised no changes should be made to the home without prior notice and/or approval from Licensing. The following correction will need to be made before a Large license can be issued: Air conditioner unit in patio needs a cover.

An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Masooma Jafari. A Large license will be granted upon final file review.
