On 11/04/2024 at 2:05 pm., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Renita Rodriguez and Adriana Macias, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA's were greeted at the front door by licensee Farida Mateen and spouse Abdulhakim Mateen. LPAs were granted entry after showing badge and identifying themselves and disclosing the purpose of their visit. The two story home was toured and inspected for compliance. No children in care were present during inspection. Areas used for child care include the living room, kitchen, dining, bathroom to the left (as you enter the house) and the fenced backyard. Off limit areas are: garage, downstair bathroom to the right (as you enter the house) and the second floor of the home - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the laundry room.

The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 10/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee not required to complete Mandated Reporter Training. Licensee primary language is Persian. Children’s records were reviewed and found to be in order.

LPA's discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA's also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
