25 | On September 20, 2024, at 1:23 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Methak Alzerkany and provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC126). Abdullah Alsudany, son of licensee was also present at the time of inspection. The split-level home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Licensee stated she has 5 children in care upon LPA Banas arrival and 15 enrolled children. Another child came at 2:30 PM., having 6 children in care. The fire extinguisher (located at the hallway), smoke detector and carbon monoxide in one meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured to children's reach. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include the living room, dining room, kitchen, bonus room, bathroom, and deck. Off limits areas include all 5-bedroom downstairs, office, balcony, garage, and laundry room and are inaccessible. There was a safety gate from living room going downstairs to the bedrooms. Doorknob covers were used for the areas that were off-limits. There is a working phone at the facility. The licensee has sufficient age appropriate, safe, toys and equipment available. Licensee owns the home.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications will expire in September 2026. Licensee meets immunization requirements. Mandated Reporter Training was waived because licensee speaks Arabic. Five children records were reviewed. Required documents are posted. Emergency drills have not been conducted but will have it done in the coming week. She stated that she does not know about it.
