On 9/18/23 at 10:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Mangina conducted an unannounced Annual inspection with the Licensee, Laura Leree. Also present in the home licensee’s assistants Alejandra Guadian and Laura Elena Acevedo and 5 children in care. A 6th child arrived at approximately 11:30 AM. Proper supervision and ratios were observed. The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. A review of records indicated that all adults who are required have fingerprint clearances associated to the facility. Licensee has provided lease as proof of control of property. Because the Licensee rents the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant has obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149) to care for up to 14 children.

A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 3/2025 and Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 was completed 3/6/23. Assistant Laura Acevedo’s CPR expires 9/2025 and Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 was completed 3/6/22. Assistant Alejandra’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 4/2025 and Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 was completed 4/27/23. Licensee and staff meet immunization requirements. LPA reviewed staff files which were complete. LPA reviewed 5 child files which were complete. All required documents were posted. Last disaster drill was conducted 9/8/23.

Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Licensee uses the following rooms for childcare: kitchen, living room, and bathroom 1. The following areas will be off limits: attached garage, rooms over garage (landlord’s space) half of back yard (landlord’s space), which are inaccessible through the use of safety gates. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

On this date, 9/18/23, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ.
