25 | On 12/09/2021 at 11:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista and Selina Siao conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. LPA's met with Facility Representative, Tammi Reliford, and assigned Center Director, Aimee Aimsworth. The Preschool Program (ages 2-5) will operate in the following classrooms: twos, Jr Preschool, Preschool 1, Preschool 2, Prek 1, Prek 2 and Plaza (Brook). Fire clearance was granted on 11/30/2021. A tour of the facility per facility sketch was conducted. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected during inspection. Classrooms and outdoor activity space was previously measured and no changes have been made since. The total indoor activity space measured at 5,130 sq. ft sufficient for 146 children and the total outdoor activity space measured at 14,467 sq. ft. sufficient for 192 children. The facility is requesting to add the "plaza" (aka brook) and "open area" to the license as a shared space between the preschool and school aged children. These two areas were measured today. The Plaza measured at 745.21 sq. ft. (sufficient for 21 children) and the Open Area measured at 6,744.28 sq. ft. (sufficient for 89 children). The total square footage for all indoor and outdoor activity space can accommodate the requested capacity. When LPA's inspected the outdoor playground, LPA's observed a canopy used for shade. Area is fenced per regulation, has age appropriate play equipment, and sufficient rubber matting for cushioning under the slides and climbing structure. Due to facility requesting to share an outdoor playground and indoor activity space between preschool and school aged children, a waiver to share both spaces on a scheduled basis shall be approved prior to licensure. The play areas for the preschool children were observed physically separate from other components.
LPA's observed all indoor play space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. There is a total of 12 toilets and 15 sinks available for the children. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathrooms and under direct visual observation. There is one staff restroom located in the reception hallway, which will also be used for the isolation restroom for ill child(ren). |
