25 | On 04/12/2022 at 10:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. LPA met with Applicant, Joanne Paz. The preschool program (ages 2-K) will operate in the following rooms: 1, 6 12 and 17. A temporary fire clearance was granted on 04/08/2022 for 45 children and will expire on October 1, 2022 (pending voice evacuation for fire alarm). Applicant stated during the inspection that she would like to do a last minute capacity change to only care for 24 children. First Aid Kit is located in the hallway between the utility closet and Room 6. Medications will be stored in the director's office. The facility also houses an infant program on site. All indoor activity areas were measured and inspected today. Room 1 measured at 475.49 sq. ft., Room 6 measured at 461.08 sqt. ft. and Room 17 measured at 748.25 sq. ft. All preschool rooms measured at a approximately 1,684.82 sq. ft. sufficient for 48 children. All rooms are complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Facility currently does not an outdoor play area however is in the process of establishing one and anticipates completion by October 1, 2022. Facility is requesting that Room 12 be utilized as an indoor playground which measures at approximately 1,338.74 sq. ft. (sufficient for 17 children at one time). Facility is requesting for 24 children. An indoor playground waiver shall be requested and approved prior to licensure. There are total of 3 sinks and 3 toilets available for the preschool children. One of the sinks and toilets are located in a restroom that is shared by the staff. A bathroom waiver shall be requested and approved prior to licensure. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and direct visual observation is required. The staff bathroom stall (with 1 toilet) and staff sink will be designated for use by children who are ill. There is not a carbon monoxide detector on site. The kitchen area currently includes a sink, 1 refrigerator, 1 dishwasher, 1 microwave, 1 toaster and storage units. The menu and required postings are not posted. Sign in and out will be located in the front lobby area located in front of Room 12. Drinking water is readily accessible via water stations and water bottles. |
