25 | On 08/25/2022 at 9:20am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an announced Change of Ownership Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Director, Yvette Jackson. LPA took a tour of the facility and observed a total of 31 children with a total of 4 staff members. The Preschool Program (children ages 2-K) will operate in the following rooms: Pre-K, Preschool and Early Preschool (EPS). Fire clearance was granted on 08/12/2022. There is a First Aid Kit kept in the lobby, outside and in each classroom. Medications are on site and stored either in the director’s office or in the classroom (inaccessible to children) depending on the medication.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected and measured today. The total indoor play space measured at approximately 2,397.29 sq. ft. which will accommodate a total of 68 children. LPA observed the indoor play space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. There is a total of 8 toilets and 8 sinks available for the children. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and under direct visual observation. There are two separate bathrooms used by staff and is also designated for use by children who are ill. The nursing room (office located left of the storage closet) will be the isolation area for children who are ill. There is a carbon monoxide detector on site located in the hallway between the boiler and electrical room. The kitchen area currently includes 3 sinks, a stove, an oven, an ice maker, one dishwasher, 1 refrigerator and 2 freezers. Food and beverages are up to date and kitchen was observed free of rodents and/or vermin. All required documents for the parents and employees are posted. Sign-in sheet is via electronic using an application called ProCare. All children that were present during inspection were signed in. |
