On 10/19/2022 at 11:31am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative, Alexandra Ellam. LPA took a tour of the facility per facility sketch. This facility houses a preschool, toddler and infant program. The Infant Program (children ages 6 week-24 months) will operate in Room 203. Fire clearance was granted on 10/11/2022. If medications are on site, Ms. Ellam stated that will be stored in the director's office in a locked container.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected and measured today. The indoor play area used for the infants was observed to be physically separate from the other programs. Room 203 measured at approximately 330 sq. ft., sufficient for only 9 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. There is one changing table within an arm’s reach of a sink however is being used as part of the napping areas fencing. Infant needs and services plan will be located in the classroom, and Ms. Ellam is reminded that they to be updated quarterly. There were no cribs in the napping area during inspection. Ms. Ellam stated that she purchased 6 cribs that are scheduled to arrive by end of week. Also present were sleeping cots for the older infants that can climb out of a crib. LPA reminded Ms. Ellam that each infant's bedding shall be used solely per infant and not shared and shall be taken home at least weekly for washing. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid or diaper waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. |
