On 04/25/2023 at 9:20am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director/CEO, Cindy Quintana Roo, and Ilse Vianney Villerreal, Assistant Director. LPA took a tour of the facility per facility sketch. There were no children present during inspection. This facility houses a Toddler Program (ages 18-36 months) in Classroom 1 and a Preschool Program (children ages 2-K) in Classroom 2 and Classroom 3. Fire clearance was granted on 03/01/2023. There is a First Aid Kit kept in each classroom. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected and measured today. Classroom 1 (toddler room) measured at approximately 736.99 sq. ft. which will accommodate a total of 21 toddlers. Total square footage for the preschool classrooms measured at 1,639.24 sq. ft., sufficient for a total of 46 children. LPA observed all indoor play space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. The toddler room is equipped with 2 toilets, 2 sinks, 1 staff sink and 1 additional sink that is within arm’s reach of a changing table. There are a total of 2 urinals, 4 toilets and 5 sinks available for the preschool children. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and under direct visual observation. There are two separate restrooms used by staff located on the second floor of the building above Classroom 2 & 3, which will also designated for use by children who are ill. The director’s office will also be designated for use by children who are ill. There is a carbon monoxide detector on site located in each classroom by the staff sink. There is a kitchen area, which is located next to Classroom 2, which currently includes a microwave, refrigerator, sink and snacks. Facility requires the parent to provide their child’s daily meals. Sign-in sheet will take place upon entry of each classroom on a clipboard.

The facility has a total of 2 separate outdoor play areas that were inspected and measured. The toddler playground is separate from the preschool playground. Toddler playground measured at 1,792 sq. ft., sufficient for 23 children. The preschool playground measured at 2,953.75 sq. ft., sufficient for a total of 39 children at one time. Facility is requesting to be licensed for 46 children. A playground waiver will need to be submitted and approved prior to licensure. When LPA inspected the outdoor play areas, LPA observed canopies and trees used for shade. Preschool playground has a play structure that is appropriate for ages 2-5 years old and has rubber cushioning underneath to sustain for a fall. All outdoor play areas are completely fenced in and is higher than 4ft. The toddler playground was observed to have some tripping hazards upon entry and not enough toys/play equipment for the children to use. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via refillable water jugs and water cups, provided by the facility.
