25 | On 06/05/2024 at 1:18pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Selina Siao and Nancy Diaz conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Director, Vianney Barraza. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 59 preschoolers ages (2 to Kindergarten) in three classrooms. Facility shall not have more than 19 children in the Mariquita Room and no more than 20 children in classrooms Mariposa and Abejas per the fire department. Applicant is also requesting to be license for up to 35 infants in two classrooms Capuulos and Oruga. (There shall be no more than 5 crib infants in the Orguas Room) due to the limited cribs in the room for the children. Hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were 17 children during nap time in the two infant classrooms supervised by 3 staff members. And there were 21 children napping on napping mats in the Mariposa and Abejas classrooms supervised 2 staff members. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed facility representative that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
The indoor activity space was recently measured to be 1248.77 square feet for the two infant classrooms and the three preschool classrooms were previously measured to be 2105.47 square feet which are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of the 94 Children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cribs, mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available inside and outside the classrooms via water bottles and refillable water bottles. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 5/29/2024. |
