25 | On 01/21/2025 at 9:45am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Selina Siao and Evelyn Reyes conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. Upon arrival, LPAs met with licensee representative for the corporation/Director Monica Martinez. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 18 infants (ages 0 to 24 months) in classrooms rooms #1 and #2 along with the two infant napping areas. And applicant is also requesting to be licensed for 24 preschool children (ages 2 to 5 years old) in rooms #3 and #4. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 6:30am to 5:30pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA Siao informed Monica Martinez that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Monica Martinez stated that they will be in front lobby reception area. A fully equipped first aid kit is in the infant room #2 and preschool room #4. The facility needs an operational carbon monoxide detector. All required licensing documents shall be posted in the front lobby reception area. Children will be signed in and out at the front lobby area via the Bright Wheel App.
LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total infant indoor activity space measured to be 644.26 square feet for the infant component which is sufficient for the requested capacity. The preschool indoor activity area measured to be 773.12 square feet for the preschool component, which is only sufficient to accommodate 22 preschool children and insufficient for the requested capacity. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, cribs, napping cots for infants who can climb out of a crib, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Facility has 8 cribs available for young infants and has ordered smaller cots for older infants. Toys are safe with no sharp edges, splinters, or points, nor made of small parts that can present a choking hazard. Drinking water will be available in the classrooms via Sparklett water dispenser in the preschool room #3 and Infant room #1. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children.
