25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelli Waters conducted an unannounced annual inspection for a small family childcare at the above home on 03/14/25 at the time listed above. LPA met with Licensees Amor Cole and Justin Chemelowski. Licensee Amor Cole guided LPA on a tour of the home, while Licensee Justin Chemelowski left the facility shortly after arrival for an appointment and did not return prior to completion. Present during the inspection were six children, three of which were infants.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Certain areas are off-limits, including the entire second floor, kitchen, and garage. The facility is licensed as a small Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with a maximum capacity of eight children including 2 school age children, and is operating within the capacity of the license.
During the inspection, LPA observed Licensee to be responsive and aware of where the children were at all times. A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed, along with a functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, both of which were tested by the Licensee. Stairs are barricaded with a baby gate when children are in care. Hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. Weapons are present and were inspected by LPA Waters, however it could not be determined during the inspection if all firearms, weapons, and ammunition were stored per Title 22 Regulations, as Licensee Amor Cole could not access each item during the inspection. Weapons were located in an off-limits area inaccessible to children. Licensee will provide LPA with proof of storage according to Title 22 Regulations.
The facility provides clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys for children. A current roster was not on file and needed updating. Required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill conducted on 09/18/24. |
