NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On the above date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA's), Diana Brasel and Griselda Castellon conducted an announced follow-up Pre-Licensing inspection for a new license. A return visit was needed to measure the outdoor playground separating the toddler option component from the preschool program. During the initial visit conducted on 11/18/2024 the applicant decided to not have the toddler option program, at which time an updated LIC 200A was obtained. The applicant decided after the initial visit to change the request back to having the toddler option program, an updated LIC 200A was submitted requesting 24 toddler option children ages 18 months - 36 months in room 801 and 48 preschool children ages 2-5 years of age in rooms 802 and 803. Upon arrival LPA's met with facility representative Sara Hernandez. Hours of operation will be: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 6:00pm. All indoor activity space was inspected today and measured on 11/18/24. The outdoor activity space was measured for the toddler option and preschool playground. LPA's informed Sara Herandez that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, in the directors office or in a latched refrigerator. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in each classroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in each classroom. All required licensing documents were observed posted in each classroom entrance. Children will be signed in and out in each classroom. LPA's continued to tour the facility and measured the outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space was measured on 11/18/2024. Total indoor activity space for toddler option is 954.33, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 children. Total indoor activity space for preschool is 2181.10, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 48 children.

LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via Brita filtered. LPA's observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 08/06/2024.

LPA observed a total of 2 sinks, 2 toilets, and a changing table for the toddler option children. A total of 4 sinks and 4 toilets available for preschool use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 24 toddler option children and 48 preschool children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the Directors office.

Facility will provide breakfast, lunch, pm snack which will be delivered from the Early Ed program. There is no kitchen.

The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing chain link, which is at least four feet high and removable mesh fencing separating the two playgrounds. The total square footage for all the outdoor toddler option activity space is 2616.49 and 10517.77 for the preschool. which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity's. Shade is provided via building overhang and trees for the preschool program and a canopy for the toddler option component. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking water is available via filtered water and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
