25 | On 1/8/25 at 10:30 a.m, Licensing Program Analysts, Renita Rodriguez and Hanna Lucas, met with Site Supervisor Shari Hurtado for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Operations Supervisor Kristie Spillane, arrived on campus about 10:53 a.m and continued the inspection with LPAs. There were 8 children present with 2 teachers in one room. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. -11 a.m.
LPAs toured the facility. The room is clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. There is a waiver on file to share the elementary school bathroom as needed. There is also a bathroom inside the classroom accessible to the children. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. There is a variety of activities available throughout the day. All required forms were posted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen on campus which is inaccessible to children and is clean and sanitary. The food is not prepared on site. Food is brought in by food and nutrition department. The lunch menu is posted, changes are recorded, and menus are stored for 30 days. Food has been stored separately from any chemicals or cleaning products. Children bring water from home but can be refilled at drinking fountains in the classroom and on the playground. Napping equipment is sufficient for each child, bedding is stored separately, and mats are disinfected after use. Facility has ensured that there is adequate space between naps/cots for easy passage and that mats/cots are not blocking entrances or exits.
Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in a locked backpack by the front door, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade, with a waiver on file to share the playground with other programs.
