25 | On 8/24/21 Licensing Program Analysts Michael Morales-DeSilvestore and Patrick Ma made an unannounced case management visit for the toddler component room change. Toddler component is dividing room P6 into rooms P6 and P7. A request for room change was received on 6/25/21. Fire clearance for 10 children in P6 and 10 children in P7 was granted on 8/19/21. During the visit there were no children present because the school was still closed for the summer. Facility is not requesting a capacity increase, only occupancy approval to use rooms P6 and P7, with 10 children maximum in each classroom.
LPA's inspected and measured room P6 to be 380.99 sq.ft. and P7 to be 330.63 sq. ft. for a total square footage of 711.62, sufficient for 20 children. Facility has a bathroom with 4 toilets and 2 sinks with a bathroom capacity for 30 children. Preschool children and toddler children must be kept separate at all times, including the bathroom, and children must be supervised at all times while maintaining ratios. There were sufficient age appropriate furnishings, toys, books and games available and no hazards were noted.
Facility has a playground with a grounded play structure behind the classroom available for use. Playground measured 1553.176 square feet which is sufficient for 20 children. The structure on playground is for ages 2-5 based on manufacturers guidelines. Play structure will need to be made inaccessible for children under 2. In the meantime, teachers will ensure through supervision that no infants or toddlers under the age of 2 use the play structure. |
