32 | Additionally, an email was sent on July 18, 2025, informing families about the outbreak, providing information on symptoms to watch for, and reminding parents to monitor their children and keep them home if they were sick or showing symptoms. The licensee also reported that the facility employs a contracted cleaning service and that staff members preform daily cleaning tasks.
Day care parents confirmed they were notified in person and via email of the outbreak.
One out of three staff members stated the facility continues to accept children who are ill and does not send them home when they are sick.
Based on the information and interviews gathered during the investigation, it was determined that the facility had an outbreak of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease however, the facility did notify the day care parents upon learning of the outbreak and follows daily and cleaning procedures. Due to conflicting statements and lack of supporting evidence, the allegation that the facility did not prevent the spread of Hand, Foot and Mouth is deemed to be unsubstantiated. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur.
A Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) was provided to the licensee, Patricia Wheeler and advised must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Licensee was advised failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
An exit interview was conducted and the report was reviewed with the Licensee, Patricia Wheeler. |
