25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted by licensee, Linda Rodriguez. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of the visit. There were 8 children in care with Helper, Dora Quiroz. LPA observed the children finishing lunch and getting ready for nap time.
Facility was observed operating within ratio and capacity. LPA conducted a tour of the home inside and outside per facility sketch. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, daycare room, restroom #1 (located within the daycare room) and enclosed rear yard. Off-limits areas include: downstairs restroom #2, entire second floor and garage.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation. Children’s toys and play equipment are available and observed free of hazards. Stairs are barricaded. There is a working telephone/email address. All cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and poisons are made inaccessible through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. The fireplace is screened for safety. The fire extinguisher meets regulations and is located in the kitchen. Licensee states there are NO firearms in the home and LPA did not observe any. The outdoor play area is fenced and free of hazardous items. The licensee stated that there are no bodies of water and LPA also did not observe any. Children records were reviewed and were complete. There are no new adults living or working in the home over the age of 18 years. All adult residents and helpers have been fingerprint cleared. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid certificate expires January 2026 for Licensee and her two helpers. |
