25 | On June 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Pauline Beschorner, conducted an unannounced annual inspection for Amaral Family Childcare (FCCH). LPA and LPM met with Licensee (LIC) Andreia Amaral, who granted entry and provided LPA a tour through the indoors and outdoors of the home.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM, servicing children birth to five years old. Certain areas listed as off-limits include the entire second story, main backyard and pond. Facility is licensed as a large FCCH with a maximum capacity of fourteen (14) children and is operating within the capacity listed on the license. Eight daycare children were present, and one assistant. During the inspection, LPA observed daycare children transitioning playing with their peers, in centers, dressing in dramatic play clothing and transitioning for lunch and clean-up.
A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed on the daycare room near the patio doorway. LPA observed an operational smoke alarm in the daycare ceiling. Additionally, carbon monoxide detector was mounted in the daycare room, and was in working order. LPA confirmed operating child safety locks for kitchen drawers and under the kitchen sink. Kitchen knives were observed to be inaccessible to daycare children located in a kitchen drawer. LPA reminded licensee that all poisons and cleaning compounds deemed hazardous must be locked by a key.
The facility provides a variety of age-appropriate toys in the daycare area room. A current roster was available for review and up to date. LPA confirmed the required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, License and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed in the home entry way. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill recorded in June 2025.
Licensee Andreia Amaral stated there are no firearms or weapons stored or located on the premise of the FCCH, at this time. Licensee stated they understand that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations.
