25 | On 1/22/2025, at 3:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Genny Leal and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. There were nine (9) daycare children present, one (1) of who is an infant and licensee's minor daughter. Also present is licensee's adult daughter Jacqueline Leal and assistant Santa Hernandez. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00am – 5:00pm.
LPA accompanied by licensee toured the inside and outside of the home. This is a single story, 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a detached room and bathroom located in the backyard area. The following areas are used for child care: classroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom #2 (hallway) and bathroom #3 (outdoors in the backyard). Off-limits areas are bedroom #1 (master bedroom), bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bedroom #4, bedroom #5, detached office, studio (outdoor entrance only), backyard #2 (area behind fenced backyard), laundry room (outside entrance only) and shed (located in backyard). Off limits areas are made inaccessible to children through the use locks, doorknob covers and fencing. Licensee utilizes the backyard for outdoor activities for the children. Licensee was reminded that there must always be direct supervision of the children while outdoors. Licensee stated that she understood.
Licensee stated that an additional bedroom and bathroom were added to the home during the year of 2024; however those area are not used for daycare. LPA advised Licensee that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the Licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed change. Licensee updated the facility sketch during time of inspection.
The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items in the home were not made inaccessible to children during the time of inspection.
