13 | On 02/20/2025 at 01:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Victoria Hernandez conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to deliver the findings for the above allegation. LPA met with Licensee, Maria Herrera, and advised licensee of the purpose of the inspection and conducted a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors. The licensee and two (2) staff and nine (9) children were present during the inspection.
During the course of the investigation, a tour of the facility inside and outdoors, interviews were conducted with licensee, staff, daycare parents, and daycare children. The facility roster was obtained and reviewed by LPA.
It was alleged the Licensee is not keeping backyard free of hazardous items. The licensee denied the allegation, stating she cleans the backyard daily and if she or her staff see any hazardous items they throw them away. LPA interviewed Staff #1 (S1), who stated that the backyard is cleaned daily before the children arrive. S1 explained that a thorough inspection is conducted each morning and evening to ensure the area is safe, with a staff member always present to supervise the children. |
