25 | On 1/19/2023 at 3:10 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA met with Licensee Rocio Beltran and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. Also present during the inspection was licensee's spouse Gabriel Sandoval. Upon LPA’s arrival, there were three (3) daycare children, two of whom were infants. LPA observed one (1) infant age 19 months napping in a play yard. During the inspection, assistant Edith Beltran arrived at the facility with two (2) school age children.
The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 1/04/2023 for fourteen (14) children.
LPA accompanied by licensee toured this 1 story, 2- bedroom, 1 bath home. Licensee will use the following areas for child care: living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom #2, fenced backyard play area and front patio. Off limits areas include: bedroom #1, garage, backyard patio behind the locked gate. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of fence locks, doorknob covers and door latches. Licensee utilizes the backyard play area for outdoor activities it is properly fenced.
Fireplace is screened and inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water observed during time of inspection. The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on 1/19/2023 indicates that all individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. First Aid/CPR certifications expire for licensee on 6/2023 and for assistant on 9/2024. Immunization records for licensee and assistant meet requirements. Licensee and assistant completed Mandated Reporter training on 1/11/2023. Facility roster was reviewed and is maintained. A sample of children files were reviewed and meet requirements. The last fire and disaster drill was conducted on 12/1/2022.
