25 | On June 16, 2021, at 2:47 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marie Hernandez conducted an unannounced Annual Required 1 Year Inspection and met with the Licensee, Vianey Moran LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. There were six children present during this inspection with the Licensee and the adult helper Isabel Moran. This facility is a one two story, three bedroom, and two bathroom house. The Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, day-care room, downstairs bathroom, and the patio. The off limit areas are made inaccessible through the use of a child proof safety gate, door locks and latches. The entire second floor is off-limits.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. There are no bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. The Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. The Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 02/15/02023. Licensee has the required immunization's. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training is current expires on 02/15/2023, and the adult helper's AB 1207 expires on 01/29/2023. The Licensee provides care to infants ages 0 - 24 months. The Licensee has the documentation for infants under twelve months, and the individual infant sleeping plan (LIC 9227) and infants ages 0-24 months. LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in day-care. Licensee was also provided handouts with information regarding upcoming Safe Sleep Regulations/SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome.
