13 | On 2/8/24 at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane conducted an unannounced complaint visit for the complaint received on 12/12/23 for the purpose of delivering findings on the above referenced allegation. LPA met with Licensee's helpers Angela Duque (daughter) and Nelson Duque (husband) upon arrival and toured the facility. Melva Duque was at a doctor's appointment and arrived at 1:00 PM. Also present in the home were nine daycare children (4 of the 9 were infants under 2 years of age). The Department fully investigated this complaint. It was alleged that an adult in the home sexually abused a day care child. Based upon information obtained during interviews, observations and documentation reviewed it was determined that there was no evidence or witnesses to corroborate the allegation against Licensee’s husband Nelson Duque. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred. Therefore, the allegation of sexual abuse of a daycare child has been UNSUBSTANTIATED. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Keturah Lane. Notice of Site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
