On July 3, 2023 at 09:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced 1-year inspection and met with the licensee Jennifer Aloyo. Licensee's husband was also present. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee, Jennifer Aloyo. The licensee, two preschoolers and two infants were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one (1) story, three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are family room, room 1, room 2, and the backyard. Off limits areas are the kitchen, garage and licensee's bedroom which are made inaccessible through use of child proof lock on door.

The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced frontyard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.

Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 04/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 06/16/23. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 06/13/2023.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA reminded Licensee of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Incidental Medical services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. No deficiencies cited.

A copy of the report and appeal rights (LIC 9058) was provided to the applicant and notice of site visit (LIC9213) was given to Licensee and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Jennifer Aloyo.
