25 | On June 22, 2023 at 11:02 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Mounia Chemsi. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. There were twelve (12) children and one assistant present during inspection. Assistant is cleared and associated to facility. This facility is a two story, five (5) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. The following areas used for child care are: Living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom located next to the kitchen (main daycare room), hallway bathroom and backyard. Off limits areas include: Entire second floor and garage. Garage is made inaccessible through use of a safety gate and second floor staircase is properly barricaded.
The fire extinguisher (rated 3A-40 BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 11/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 05/05/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted in April 07, 2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
