32 | It was also alleged that the licensee is not ensuring that the facility is kept clean, orderly, and free of pests. Licensee denied the allegation and stated that the facility previously had problems with mice and cockroaches in the year of 2020 and 2021. Licensee stated that mice traps and glue traps were used to prevent the problem. On 1/17/2024 and 3/15/2024, during the inspections of the facility, LPA did not observe any infestation in any of the daycare areas and the home appeared to be clean and orderly. On 1/17/2024, LPA did observe rat feces in an the off-limits big room. Licensee stated that daycare children never utilize the off-limits big room.
During interviews with licensee, assistant, daycare children and daycare parents, no conclusive evidence regarding these allegations were obtained. There is conflicting evidence obtained during the investigation. Though the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. A technical violation was issued to Licensee, Rose Dorvilus.
A copy of this report along with Appeals Rights were provided. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Rose Dorvilus. |
