25 | On 11/1/2024, at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPA’s), Cindy Meier and Saul Zazueta conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Co-licensee Alejandro Guzman Hernandez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors. This facility is a one story, three-bedroom, two and a half-bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: living room and the half bathroom. Off limits areas include: kitchen, bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bathroom #1, bathroom #2, garage, and dining room which are made inaccessible through the use of safety gates.
Hours of operation hours are Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There were eight (8) preschool child present during the inspection. LPA Zazueta provided Spanish translation during the inspection for the co-licensee.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection. The storage area for poisons is locked. LPA observed toys and materials available for children’s use. There is a fireplace located in the living room which is barricaded and inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home.
The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities which also includes an in-ground pool. The pool is inaccessible to children and is surrounded by a five-foot-high fence, enclosing the body of water. The fence does not obscure the pool from view and includes a self-latching device and self-closing gate that swings away from the pool. Pool fencing meets Title 22 regulations. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. |
