25 | On August 16, 2023, at 2:30 pm., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and inspected facility for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA met with Licensee, Ligia Barbosa and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. Also present was Assistant Jasmine Cabrera, who aided as a translator due to applicant's primary language is Spanish. There were seven (7) daycare children present, three (3)of whom were under 24 months. At 3:30pm, Licensee's spouse Javier Rodriguez arrived to the facility. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm.
This one story four bedroom, two bath home was toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway bathroom, backyard, patio area, exploring area located in the upper level of the backyard behind the patio. The off-limit areas include the garage, bedrooms #1 through #4, bathroom (inside of master), and the side yard (lot area). The off-limits areas have door locks and fences.Licensee stated she understood that there must always be direct supervision while outdoors with the children.
During the inspection, LPA observed children napping in off limit areas which included bedroom #1, bedroom #2 and bedroom #4. The doors to bedroom #1, #2 and #4 were closed and Child #1 (C1) and Child #2 (C2) are infants.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were not made inaccessible to children during the inspection. LPA observed shampoos, razors, body wash, and facial wash in the shower of the hallway bathroom also observed was perfume on a dresser in bedroom #1. Licensee locked the bedrooms and secured the shower with a safety strap lock. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee stated she understood that there must always be direct supervision while outdoors with the children.
