25 | On February 23, 2024, at 9:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and inspected facility for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA met with Licensee, Jonas Franck and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. Also present was licensee's son age 2 years old. At 10:15am, licensee's assistant Mariana Present arrived to the facility. There were no daycare children present. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00am - 9:00pm.
This is a single level three bedroom, two bath home. LPA accompanied by licensee toured the inside and outside of the home. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, bedroom #2 (daycare room) and the bathroom #2 (hallway) The off-limits areas are the kitchen, bedroom #1, bathroom #1 (inside of master bedroom), bedroom #3 and the patio. The off-limits areas are made inaccessible to day care children by use of doorknob covers, door locks and a safety gate. Licensee stated that a local park is utilized for outdoor activities for the children. Licensee is reminded that there must always be direct supervision while outdoors and/or at the park with the children. Licensee stated that he understood.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. All cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items were inaccessible to children during the inspection. Licensee has a working cell phone in the home. The licensee has age-appropriate toys and play equipment available. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
