25 | On October 25, 2023, at 9:45 am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and inspected facility for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA met with Licensee, Martha Inzunza and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. Also present was licensee's assistant, Curtis James. There were four (4) daycare children present, one (1) of whom was under 24 months. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
This one story four bedroom, two bath home was toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: dining room, living room, hallway bathroom, front patio area, the upper level of the backyard behind the patio. The off-limit areas include the garage/laundry room, bedrooms #1 through #4, bathroom #1 (inside of bedroom #4), and the side yard (driveway area). The off-limits areas have door locks, safety gates and a fence. Licensee stated that she understood that there must always be direct supervision while outdoors with the children.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Poisons, detergents, medications and hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and book available. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed bodies of water during the time of inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. See LIC 809C Continuation...
