25 | On October 4th, 2023, at 9:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced capacity increase inspection. Licensee Leslie Tejero was advised of the meeting’s purpose and granted LPA facility entry. Present in the home was only the Licensee.
The Licensees have provided licensed care since 2016. On 08/15/2023, Licensees submitted an application (LIC 279) requesting a capacity increase. The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 09/11/2023 for fourteen (14) children. The Licensees have provided proof of control of property. Landlord Consent is on file.
This three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom, one (1) floor house was toured and inspected. The living room, one bathroom, fenced front yard and fenced side yards are used for children. The off-limit areas include backyard deck, kitchen, bedrooms, and the remaining bathroom. A doorknob safety covers the doorknob of one bedroom. Remaining bedrooms are accessible through a hallway; this hallway is barricaded with a child safety gate. Kitchen cabinets have cabinet locks. Access into the backyard deck is made inaccessible by use of its locked sliding glass door. Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, as shown on the updated facility sketch.
Background criminal record clearances were verified and discussed. First Aid and CPR certifications expire in August 2024 and July 2025. The facility has a working 2A10BC fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide, and a first aid kit in place. The last safety drill was on 09/05/2023. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Per the Licensee, no weapons or ammunition are housed in the facility.
The Licensee was provided with the Ratio/Capacity Worksheet for a large family childcare home. The Licensee acknowledged that if no assistant provider is present at a Large Family Child Care Home, then the Licensees shall comply with the capacity requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home. |
