25 | On 09/15/2023 at 9:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Hood conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for a change of location with the licensee Abigain Martinez. This 1 story 3 - bedroom, 1.5- bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children.
On 09/05/2023, a fire clearance was granted for a large license. The licensee provided proof of control of the property for review by the Department. The licensee will use the following areas for childcare: living room, backyard, and full bathroom in the hallway. Off-limits areas include a garage, master bedroom and master half bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms 1 & 2, and the west side of the backyard. They are made inaccessible to daycare children using doorknob covers, door latches, and safety gates. The licensee will utilize the backyard for outdoor activities, The fire extinguisher is rated 3A 40B: C, and smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. The licensee has completed the 8 hours of preventative health. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 10/02/2023. Required documents are posted. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to the initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/ person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Any minor upon his/her 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and comply with the licensee. The licensee completed Mandated Reporter training on 06/27/2021. The licensee will send the LPA a copy of her renewed Mandated Reporter Training certificate. Per the applicant operating hours are twenty-four hours, Monday through Sunday. An advised licensee that no changes should be made to the home without prior notice and/or approval from Licensing. Licensee states they are financially secure to operate a family childcare home for children and will comply with all regulations and laws governing family child care homes.
