25 | On December 8, 2023 at 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted an announced pre-licensing change of location inspection with applicant, Ambria Romero. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This two story four (4) bedroom, three (3) bathroom home was toured and inspected. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm.
Applicant will utilize the following areas for childcare: living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom #2, bathroom #2 (hallway), playroom, front yard and backyard. Off limit areas include bedroom #1 (master), bathroom #1, bedroom #3, bedroom #4, bathroom #3, laundry room, back yard area behind patio near the steps (location of trees and bushes), garage, and storage shed. Off limits areas are inaccessible to children by use of door knob covers, safety gates, safety latches, door locks, and fencing. Applicant will utilize the partially fenced backyard for outdoor activities. LPA informed applicant to ensure that children are always supervised during outdoor activities.
The fire extinguisher is rated 2A-:10-B:C and located in the laundry room. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items were made inaccessible to children by cabinet latches. Fireplaces in the home. are located in the living room and the playroom. Fireplaces are properly secured. Applicant has children's toys, play equipment and books available. The applicant has a working home phone and cell phone.
Applicant stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water during the time of inspection. Licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
