25 | On February 20, 2025 at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Shannan Williams conducted an announced follow up pre-licensing inspection. On January 24, 2025 the applicant was advised corrections were needed. Upon arrival LPA met with Applicant, Gertride Bien Aime, and LPA advised of the purpose of the inspection, and Licensee granted LPA facility entry. Present in the home were the Applicant, Applicant's husband and Applicant's Adult Sister. No daycare children were present in today's inspection.
During today's inspection, LPA inspected and approved the following corrections as completed:
1. Back yard fencing needs to be secured along the length of the fence. The fence is falling backward on a steep hill that leads to a busy street.
2. The small garden in the backyard fencing needs to be replaced or removed. There are large boards missing and the fencing is too low.
3. Large blue barrels need to be removed from the backyard and placed into an off-limit area.
4. The missing brick in the back yard needs to be replaced; it is a tripping hazard for the children in care.
5. The piece of astro-turf missing from the yard and needs to be replaced; it is a tripping hazard.
6. Furniture needs to be backed off the walls of the fencing. As the desk and couch stand children are able to climb up on them and climb over the fencing; neighbor has a hot-tub.
7. Post all required forms.
8. Children’s files from previous facility for agency review; applicant stated children are in care at previous facility.
LPA reviewed 5 Children's files. Exit interview was conducted with Applicant, Gertride Bien Aime. Notice of site visit was given and Licensee was advised must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
