25 | On 1/10/2025 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for the purpose of a change of location with applicant, Eva De La Cruz Lopez. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 23 hours per day.
This single level three (3) bedroom, two bathroom home was toured and inspected. Applicant will utilize the following areas for childcare: living room, kitchen, bedroom #2 (daycare room), bathroom #2 (hallway), front and backyard. Off limit areas include bedroom #1 (master bedroom), bathroom #1 (inside of master bedroom), bedroom #3 and the garage. All of the off limit areas were not made inaccessible to children during time of inspection. Bedroom #1, bedroom #3, garage and one (1) rose bush with thorns in the backyard were observed to be accessible to children. Applicant stated that she will utilize the fenced backyard for outdoor activities for the children once the rose bush has been made inaccessible. LPA informed applicant to ensure that children are always supervised during outdoor activities.
The fire extinguisher is size 2-A:10-B:C and is located in the kitchen. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications were made inaccessible to children; however LPA observed one drawer containing knives accessible to children during time of inspection. Applicant stated that she will place a safety latch on the drawer. There is no fireplace in the home. There are no stairs in the home. Applicant has a working cell phone. Applicant stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the time of inspection. Applicant stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
