25 | On 4/16/2021 @ 10:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, made an announced case management visit to measure a new infant room addition. The facility is seeking to move their existing infant program with a capacity of 12 infants, to a larger room (Room #8) and increase capacity to 18 infants. There is a new infant outdoor space as well. Fire clearance was received on 3/24/21.
During this visit, LPA measured and inspected Room #8 and the new infant outdoor space. The room is divided into two halves with a total measurement of 864.42 sq. ft, sufficient for up to 24 infants. This exceeds the facility's requested capacity of 18. It is the intention that each half will hold 9 infants. There are two napping areas with a 4' sound absorbing half walls, gated doorways and of sufficient size to hold 9 floor mats/cots and three cribs, each with passage in between. There is space for staff to directly supervise within each napping area. Montessori programs commonly use floor mats for the younger infants as well. There are two changing tables within arms reach of a sink and a small kitchen area for food preparation. Age appropriate furnishings will be moved from the existing infant room upon approval. Portable potties will be used for potty training, if necessary. No hazards were noted.
Outdoor space has astroturf, age appropriate play equipment will be moved from the existing outdoor space and the area is fully enclosed with a metal fence. The space measures 677.72 sq. feet, sufficient for a maximum of 9 infants at any given time. The facility will need to request a waiver to use this space on a staggered schedule for groups of no more than 9 infants at a time. No hazards were noted.
Upon approval of the waiver, the increase in capacity from 12 to 18 infants, in Room #8, will be granted and a new license will be sent for posting.
This report will be delivered via email for signature and return, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Facility's reply to the email is considered confirmation of receipt. |
