25 | On 11/27/23 at 10:46am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an unannounced case management site inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Center Director, Marla Martin. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected today. Purpose of this visit is to address facility’s request to increase their licensed capacity from 24 infants to 48 infants. Facility has added Room #3 to their infant license. Fire clearance was granted on 11/14/23.
LPA remeasured Room #3 and added it to the total square footage of Room #1 (already licensed for infants). The total square footage between Room #1 and Room #3 is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 48 infants. Room #3 has 2 sinks and 2 toilets available for children. There is a bathroom located within Room #3 which has two changing tables within arms reach of a sink. There is also a microwave, refrigerator, and operational carbon monoxide detector in Room #3. Director stated this room is going to used for older infants who can climb out of a crib. LPA observed Room #3 to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, mats, and other activity supplies for the children. Director is reminded that all infant bottles shall have their name and date on them. Infant needs and services plan will be stored in the classroom in a binder per child and Director is reminded that they have to be updated quarterly.
Facility has an approved waiver to share the outdoor playground with all programs (infant, toddlers and preschool) at different times. LPA will consult with management to see if an updated waiver is needed prior to issuing an updated license. The areas used for the infant, toddler and preschool program was observed to be separate from one another indoors. LPA informed Director that the programs shall never commingle at any given time and that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor play. |
