32 | It was also alleged the facility allowed children exhibiting signs of illness to be present at the facility. Facility director denied the allegation, explaining that there was an increase of children ill with the flu during the month of September 2022; however, facility staff conducted daily inspections for illness at drop off and children with obvious symptoms of illness were not accepted. The facility director stated the facility reimplemented daily temperature checks before admitting children, in an effort to prevent a flu outbreak. The facility director stated that on September 26, 2022, a notice was sent to all parents advising them of the practice and facility continued doing temperature check for two consecutive weeks after the notice was sent out to parents. Parents interviewed did not disclose any concerns or issues with the facility or staff.
Based on the information obtained, LPA was unable to confirm whether or not staff is properly sanitizing the facility or that the facility was admitting sick children. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are Unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with assistant director, Amber DeLuca. A copy of this report, along with Appeal Rights (LIC9058 03/22), were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. LPA observed that the notice of site visit was posted during the inspection. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
