On 9/19/23 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Amber DeLuca and was led on a tour the facility. There were six (6) children and two (2) staff members present. The facility is requesting a capacity increase to 23 infant children, ages 0-24 months in rooms 102 and 103. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Rooms 102 and 103 were inspected and measured a total of square 1570.27 feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. The Sleeping Room (equipped with cribs) was not calculated in the square footage. Classrooms were equipped with age-appropriate furniture, including cots, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for children. There are two (2) toilets and two (2) sinks for children's use. There is a changing table within arm’s reach of a sink in both rooms and a restroom in the hallway next to room 103 and in room 102.
The outdoor activity space was inspected and previously measured a total of 634.20 square feet which is only sufficient to accommodate eight (8) children; however, applicant is requesting a capacity of 23 infant children.
A fire clearance for 23 infant children; ages 0-24 months was granted 9/5/23.
The following is required:
· Waiver request for the outdoor activity space submitted to the SDRO
· Plan of operation for restroom use between rooms 102 and 104
· Application to decrease the preschool capacity and remove room 102 from the preschool license (#376701250)
No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Amber DeLuca. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's date. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
