Upon arrival, LPA met with Site Supervisor Katie Wuest. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 28 preschool children ages 2 to 5 years old in the current licensed classrooms #1 and #2. Facility operates Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm for classroom #2 and 9am to 12:30pm for classroom #1. The following ratios were observed today: Room 1 had 8 children supervised by staff members Arianna Valadez and Jamie Bales and Room 2 had 5 younger preschool children supervised by staff members Kemerley Gondek, Winona Upton and Adrianna Polen. Appropriate title 5 ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Site Supervisor that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and the classrooms were previously measured. Total indoor activity space measured to be 1604.46 square feet after using the conversion chart, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 28 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via water bottles that are located in the classroom and children bring their individual refillable water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative stated that there are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 09/18/2024.
LPA observed a total of 4 sinks and 3 toilets available for children’s use inside classroom #1 and #2. Facility also has a restroom with 1 sink and 1 toilet located outside near the future play area for children's use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 28 children.
