On 8/25/23 at 9:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane arrived at the facility for the purpose of a pre-licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Amanda Masiello and applicant, Bridget Wu and was led on a tour of the facility. Applicant is requesting a capacity of 20 preschool children (age 2-Kindergarten) in the preschool room. Applicant’s planned hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm.

The preschool room previously measured a total of 1163.47 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 33 children; however, applicant is only requesting a capacity of 20.

Classrooms are equipped with age-appropriate furniture including cots for napping, tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for children. There is one (1) toilet and one (1) sink available for use the exclusive of preschool children. Applicant stated she will submit a waiver to request the infant program and preschool children share a restroom.

Drinking water is available inside and outside via filtered water pitchers and refillable water bottles brought from home. There is a separate restroom for staff located upstairs next to the office. The staff restroom and office will be utilized for isolation if a child becomes ill. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are kept inaccessible to children.

Facility provides a morning and afternoon snack and parents provide lunch from home. The facility utilizes manual sign in and sign out sheets. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector. There is a first aid kit available with required supplies.

There is only one outdoor activity space available, which the applicant plans to share with the infant and toddler program. The outdoor activity space measured a total of 785.05 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 10 children, however applicant is requesting a capacity of 20 preschool children. Applicant submitted a waiver request due to lack of sufficient space and to share the outdoor space with the infant and toddler program. Shade is provided through the use of a canopy and shade sail. LPA observed toys and materials available for outdoor play. Proper supervision and placement of staff outside was discussed to ensure the safety of children at all times.
