Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Amelia Zheng, and explained a purpose of the inspection to her. Per Amelia, all children and staff from Infant and Preschool programs have relocated from CCFC - VV John King Center to this facility temporarily because John King Center was under renovation. All children and staff will be moved back to John King Center when the renovation is completed. Per Amelia, this facility was completely closed during Pandemic, all children from this facility were transferred to other CCFC's facilities. This facility has been reopened since April 10, 2023. There were 9 children with 4 staff present. The facility was located inside the Mercy housing property. The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This facility was a combination center with Preschool and Infant program. The Infant program was run in 2 classrooms that were called " Infant Room and Mobile Infant room - 18 months and up" by the main entrance. The classrooms were located at the end of the hallway, and behind the Preschool classroom. Each classroom had its own door to prevent children accessing to the off-limit area. The facility installed a gate at the main entrance to prevent children accessing to the off-limit areas. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. All staff had fingerprint clearance. The facility was clean and in-order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. The facility made the toxin and harmful objects inaccessible to the children. There were right amount of cubbies with children's names available for the children to story their personal belongings in each classroom. The facility provided bedding to each child in an individual container with a child's name in Mobile Infant room and Sleep Sack in Infant room. The facility has washed the beddings and sleep sacks weekly at the center. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, sand table, books, learning materials & equipment, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair in Mobile Infant room, and age-appropriate toys and gross motor area available in the Infants room. The Mobile Infant Room had an adjacent bathroom with a child's size sink and toilet, and a diaper changing table with an arm reach adult's size sink. The Infant room had diaper changing section across the nap room. There was a sink near by the diaper changing table. All the lower sink cabinets and drawers were either latched or locked in both rooms. There was a food preparation area in a Preschool classroom, and made inaccessible to the children with a gate. LPA inspected the area for health and safety hazards. There was a food waste bin with tide lid. The area was clean and in order. LPA also inspected the food and milk in the refrigerator. The food items were in good condition there. The facility provided breakfast, AM/PM snacks and lunch to the children. Lunches have been delivered to the facility from the main kitchen daily except snack. The facility has prepared the snack in the center daily. The facility reheated the lunches in the food preparation area and provided them to the children afterward. The weekly menu and daily activities schedule were posted in the room. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. It was separated for preschool and infant programs by a barricade The yard had a brand new soft cushioning to the entire ground. There were some outdoor toys available for the children. Per Amelia, there was a child on special medication. LPA inspected the storage and documents of the medication during the inspection. The facility had first aid and emergency supplies in each session. All the required postings were posted by the main entrance. Cots were used for napping. At least a staff had current CPR/First Aid training. LPA reviewed the sign in/out sheets during the inspection. All electrical outlets were covered. LPA obtained a copy of the current children's roster during the inspection. LPA inspected 15 minutes nap check log during the inspection.
