25 | On January 31, 2023 at 1:16 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Cowan conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee, Giovanna Luzardo. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Licensee is present alone in the home when LPA arrives, and states that helpers and children should arrive from the park soon. At 1:40, three staff and 11 children (3 infants and 8 preschoolers) arrive to the home. Licensee lives in a 3 bedroom home with spouse and 2 minor children. Facility was inspected and Day-care areas are: Living Room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom 1, sun room, lower level family room, bathroom, and back yard. The rest of the home is off-limits. The days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
At 1:21 PM, LPA observed the following: Day-care area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Chimney in Living room is properly barricaded. There are no bodies of water on the property. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to day-care children. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Licensee’s CPR expires in 4/2023. Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 12/16/22, and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals via the food program. Discipline policy is mainly redirection.
At 1:43 PM, LPA reviewed facility files. Both staff's and children's files are complete with required Licensing documents. Licensee has all required postings posted.
*Licensee was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption.
*Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.
*Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website (www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com)
*Licensee was given information regarding ‘Safe Sleep’ practices.
