25 | On February 7, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanson Leong conducted an unannounced annual visit. LPA met with the Licensee, Ya Ling Liao, and explained the purpose of the visit.
Today’s visit included three pre-k children and two infants. The two adults caring for the children and the one other adult in the home had obtained criminal record clearances from the California Department of Social Services. The licensee has a large license and is operating within the capacity limits and ratios for this visit.
LPA observed that all required documents, such as the facility license, the Notification of Parental Rights, and the Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, were displayed and visible to the public.
The most recent emergency disaster drill was conducted on January 24, 2025, and the LPA observed that it was documented. LPA reviewed the emergency disaster drill log and found that it was conducted monthly.
Daycare Areas: Living rooms #1 and #2, a bathroom, and a backyard.
Off-limit Areas: The two bedrooms and kitchen (walk through only to the backyard). The licensee understands that off-limits areas may not be used for childcare during business hours.
LPA inspected the indoor and outdoor daycare areas to identify health and safety hazards. The home had a fully charged fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, and multiple combo carbon monoxide/smoke detectors. LPA tested the combo carbon monoxide/smoke detectors and found at least one functioning.
LPA observed that the home's interior was clean and orderly. An air purifier was observed in the home for heating and cooling purposes. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, and other hazardous items were stored in areas inaccessible to children. The bathroom was clean, fully operational, and equipped with suitable toileting equipment and sanitation products.
