25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Schnell conducted a case management inspection in response to the addition of an infant center at this location, which is resulting in a capacity decrease to the licensed preschool to 26 children. The applicant has submitted an application requesting to decrease the capacity from 34 children to 26 children, ages two years old to entry into first grade. The applicant also submitted LIC 308, LIC 401, LIC 500 and LIC 999 documents which were reviewed. LPA Schnell met with applicant Helena Geng and Director Padma Alamuru . LPA inspected the facility for health and safety to ensure the facility is in compliance with Title 22 Regulations for Child Care Centers. The applicant has converted the toddler option approved room into the Infant Center. The preschool program will operate 7:30 am -5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The total useable square footage for the preschool program is 935.06 square feet. Divided by 35 square feet per child equals 26 children. If the children enrolled in the infant center begin toilet training, they will share the bathroom with the preschool children. Applicant understands that the two age groups cannot be commingled in the bathroom at the same time. There is an approved waiver for outdoor space due to the limited allowable capacity of 18 children (based on measurements taken from a facility evaluation report dated 2/20/20) and this will be updated to reflect the new capacity. Infants and Preschool children will share the outdoor space on a rotation basis. The Infant program has an approved waiver to use the preschool outdoor activity space. LPA Schnell also sent an updated Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) to the San Francisco Fire Department, since this location will now become a combination center with the addition of an infant center (application pending currently). Fire clearance has been received (11/12/21). Based on the new square footage, the request to decrease the capacity to 26 children will be granted effective 11/16/21. No deficiencies cited. A Notice of Site Visit was given to the applicant to be posted visible to parents for thirty days. |
