25 | On May 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cowan conducted a Case Management inspection, and met with site director. Due to Covid-19 State of Emergency, the inspection for decrease in capacity is conducted via Facetime. The purpose of this inspection was explained.
On 06/29/2021, the facility submitted an application for decrease of capacity from 66 preschool aged children to 39. Fire clearance and supporting documents were submitted to the San Francisco Fire Department on 06/29/2021.
Per site director, the infant class will be relocating to a neighboring building, and both classrooms will be used for preschoolers housing 24 children in Room 1 (measuring 854.82 sq ft.) and 15 preschoolers in Room 2 (measuring 527.16 sq. ft.). This facility is recently licensed, and LPA is using existing measurements for rooms. LPA toured the facility and observed that the day-care is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for children.
The square footage for the playground area was previously calculated for 685 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 8 children. The director will be submitting a new request for outdoor waiver.
The facility has 3 toilets and 3 sinks allowing for a capacity of 45 preschoolers. There are plenty of age appropriate toys and cubbies for children to use and store their items in. Director states that some of the furniture has been removed from Room 2 and will be replaced soon.
Based on overall square footage of indoor and outdoor space, sinks, and toilets, there is enough overall space for a total of 39 children in classrooms 1 and 2.
Prior to the decrease of capacity of this facility the following is needed:
- Receive Fire Clearance from SF Fire Department.
- Submit waiver for new outdoor schedule.
- Replace tables and chairs in room 2.
This report is emailed to site director with a request for reply demonstrating receipt. |
