25 | On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra met with Licensee, Noreen Schmidt-Rios for an increase of capacity. This is a single story home, 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. Facility hours of operation are M-F from 05:30 am to 06:00 pm. Present in the facility was Licensee, Licensee's son and 5 daycare children.
LPA toured the home inside and out for a health and safety inspection. Off-limit areas include; All bedrooms, backyard, two storage sheds located in the backyard, front yard, driveway, and garage. Licensee will contact the Department to make the backyard part of the daycare area once corrections are made to ensure the safety of the playground. LPA observed a fully charge fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide/ smoke detector meet regulation. Hazardous cleaning compounds and medications are stored inaccessible and or out of children reach. There are no bodies of water in the premises. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons in the home. LPA observed age appropriate toy and play equipment for the children in care.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
