25 | On August 01, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tobias Lake met with Licensee, Kimberly Weimer, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were five children present at the time of inspection. Licensee's daughter was also present during the inspection. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM. to 5:00 PM. LPA reminded Licensee that annual fees are due by 08/23/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include the entire the garage, master bedroom, and the far back area of the property. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors, supervision, and childproof doorknobs. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 3A40BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care.
Licensee stated there are weapons and pets in the home. LPA verified that ammunition is stored in the locked garage and the firearms are locked in a gun safe in the master bedroom. Licensee will provide supervision to ensure child safety around their pet dogs and cats. Outdoor play space is not entirely fenced. Licensee was reminded that 100% supervision is required when children are playing in unfenced areas. LPA observed living room area with age-appropriate toys for children. LPA observed a restroom and verified that hazardous and toxic items were inaccessible to children in care. The backyard has an in-ground pool area that is fenced per Title 22 regulations and LPA observed the gate to self-close and self-latch. There are no windows or doors that provide direct access into the pool area.
