25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lauren Scott and Christopher Jackson met with Kimberly Lovins for an unannounced random annual inspection and toured areas of the home accessible to children in care. Off-limit areas include the master bathroom, garage and laundry room. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The census included 10 children. Also present was licensee’s assistant, Courtney Cortes. All adult residents have criminal record clearances on file.
LPAs observed current CPR/First Aid certificate for Kimberly Lovins which expires on 05/2023. LPAs discussed recent changes in licensing requirements, including the posting of licensing inspection notices and reports and Parent Notification Requirements. LPAs reviewed the children’s files who were in attendance. LPAs observed fire drills were conducted at least once every six months and documented.
LPAs observed that there were no hazardous items accessible to children. LPAs observed that cleaning materials were inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector meet regulations and were tested. Toys appear to be safe.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services- IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
